Teriyaki Grilled Pineapple Salsa | Any great game day spread must include some awesome homemade salsa. It’s the law! This sweet and savory salsa is quick to prepare, featuring a touch of heat from grilled jalapeño and some juicy sweetness from grilled pineapple slices. It’s never too late in the season for grilling! Serve this salsa with corn chips or veggie chips, use it in a layered dip, or serve it as a topping for tasty Tuesday night tacos.
1 teaspoon olive oil 2 tablespoons Kikkoman® Teriyaki Marinade & Sauce ½ pound peeled and cored pineapple, cut into 1-2 inch thick slices ½ medium jalapeño, ribs removed 1 cup chopped tomato ½ cup chopped red onion ¼ cup finely chopped cilantro ¼ teaspoon ground cumin ¼ teaspoon salt Corn tortilla chips for serving
Preheat gas grill to medium heat (350-400ºF). Stir together olive oil and teriyaki sauce. Brush pineapple slices with mixture.
Place pineapple slices and jalapeño on grill and cook for 3 minutes on each side.
Transfer to a cutting board and cool for 10 minutes.
Finely chop pineapple and jalapeño, and add to a medium mixing bowl, including juices. Add chopped tomato, red onion, cilantro, cumin and salt. Stir well to combine. Serve with tortilla chips.
