About this recipe

Chocolate Sesame Breakfast Bars are the perfect way to start your day with something sweet, satisfying, and packed with flavor! Made with wholesome rolled oats, creamy nut butter, and a touch of Kikkoman® Sesame Oil, these bars have a rich, nutty taste that pairs beautifully with melty mini chocolate chips. They’re soft, chewy, and perfect for meal prepping a grab-and-go breakfast or snack.

This easy recipe combines simple ingredients to create a treat that’s both delicious and nourishing. The oats provide a hearty base, while the sesame oil adds a subtle depth of flavor that makes these bars stand out. If you are looking for a healthy breakfast bar recipe that doesn’t skimp on taste, these will quickly become a staple in your kitchen.

They’re also versatile—enjoy them as-is, swap in your favorite nut butter, or even add mashed banana for a fun twist. However you make them, they’re a great option for busy mornings or an afternoon pick-me-up.

Tips and Tricks

  • Let the bars cool completely before slicing to ensure they hold their shape.
  • Swap out peanut butter for almond butter or tahini for a different flavor twist.
  • Store extras in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze for longer-lasting snacks.
  • Looking for a protein boost? Add in a scoop of your favorite protein powder before mixing.

THE STORY OF SOY SAUCE

Even people who love soy sauce and use it all the time are often surprised to learn what it is and how it’s made. We make ours from just four simple ingredients—water, soybeans, wheat, and salt. Those ingredients are transformed through a traditional brewing process—much like making wine or beer—that has remained unchanged for centuries.
