1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted

⅛ cup all-purpose flour
1 cup whole milk
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon paprika

directions

For the Pretzel Bites

  1. In the bowl of a stand mixer add your water, yeast, and sugar. Mix and let sit for 5 minutes. Add the fried rice seasoning mix, butter and flour. Mix on
medium-low speed with the dough hook attachment for 5-7 minutes until smooth. Transfer to a lightly greased bowl and cover for 20 minutes.
  2. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and preheat oven to 400°F. Add baking soda and water into a large pot and bring to a boil.
  3. Lightly flour your work surface and cut your dough into 8 pieces. Roll each piece into ½ inch thick logs and use a pizza cutter or knife to cut into ½ thick
cubes (doesn’t have to be perfect!).
  4. Dunk them in boiling water mixture for about 10 seconds, then immediately scoop out with a slotted spoon and place on the baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. While hot, add to a large mixing bowl and toss in more fried rice seasoning mix. Enjoy!

For the Cheese Sauce

  1. Melt butter over medium heat in a medium saucepan. Once melted add flour and constantly stir for 2 minutes. Slowly drizzle in milk while whisking until fully
incorporated. Keep whisking for 3-5 minutes until thickened.
  2. Add cheese, paprika, and salt to taste. Mix until fully dissolved and enjoy!

THE STORY OF SOY SAUCE

Even people who love soy sauce and use it all the time are often surprised to learn what it is and how it’s made. We make ours from just four simple ingredients—water, soybeans, wheat, and salt. Those ingredients are transformed through a traditional brewing process—much like making wine or beer—that has remained unchanged for centuries.
