Yield

Serves 4

kikkoman products used:

ingredients

2 cups of boiled, cooled rice
4 tablespoon crab or surimi imitation crab
2 tablespoon Kikkoman Sriracha Mayo Sauce
2 nori seaweed sheets
1 stem scallions, finely chopped
1 medium carrot, grated
1/4 cucumber, finely chopped
Fresh avocado slices
Seafood of your choice, like smoked or baked salmon
Kikkoman Soy Sauce sauce for drizzling
Salt and pepper to taste

directions

For the rice base layer, mix together the rice, scallions, cucumber, carrots, crab, and spicy mayo, then season to taste with salt and pepper. If your rice mixture isn’t quite sticky enough, add a bit more mayo. Divide mixture into four and press each portion tightly into a small springform before centering it on each plate. On top of the rice base, add a layer of nori seaweed sheets. Feel free to get creative with this step – it will make your dish look very haute cuisine! Continue to build your stack with a layer of avocado slices and a layer of fish or seafood, finishing the picture with a drizzle of soy sauce.

THE STORY OF SOY SAUCE

Even people who love soy sauce and use it all the time are often surprised to learn what it is and how it’s made. We make ours from just four simple ingredients—water, soybeans, wheat, and salt. Those ingredients are transformed through a traditional brewing process—much like making wine or beer—that has remained unchanged for centuries.
