But don’t take our word for it. A recent episode of the popular food and lifestyle TV show, ā€œA Taste of New York,ā€ features the innovative Executive Pastry Chef Conn Zhang of Manhattan’s renowned Hutong restaurant creating two spectacular desserts made with KikkomanĀ® Teriyaki sauces.

Say Cheesecake! – Teriyaki Marinade & Sauce

First, Chef Conn shares her recipe for a creamy Basque cheesecake with a brown butter cookie crumb crust and a rich filling made with silken tofu, cream cheese, and soy milk. The cake is topped with whipped cream and a drizzle of salted caramel sauce—a classic cream-based caramel sauce enhanced with a splash of KikkomanĀ® Teriyaki Marinade & Sauce to add just the right balance of salted caramel flavor.

Magical Moon Cakes – Teriyaki Takumi, Original

For her second surprising teriyaki-inspired dessert, Chef Conn prepares Chinese moon cakes. She surrounds a filling of Chinese candied hawthorn and KikkomanĀ® Teriyaki Takumi, Original in a layer of black sesame chocolate ganache, and wraps it all in a tender ā€œsnow skinā€ glutinous rice flower dough before pressing in a flower-shaped moon cake mold.

Teriyaki That!

We hope Chef Conn’s dazzling creativity inspires you to try a few sweet-savory teriyaki ideas of your own. You’ll find that KikkomanĀ® Teriyaki Sauces can round out the flavors of everything from caramel to chocolate, cheesecake, fruit, and more!
