The Kikkoman Love Unbottled Contest

Congratulations to our winners!

To celebrate 50 years of brewing Kikkoman® Soy Sauce in the USA, we created a very special contest with a once-in-a-lifetime prize: a trip to Japan!

Participants were invited to share an image or video that brings to life their own personal Kikkoman love story.

Well, it turns out there’s a lot of Kikko-love out there. Over a thousand amazing entries poured in, and we narrowed them down to five finalists—which wasn’t easy with so many outstanding mini-masterpieces to choose from!

From there, we turned to our consumer fans and followers to choose one of those finalists as our grand prize winner. When the 1,500+ votes were tallied, the choice was clear.

Congratulations, Andrew Pei (@Johnnyplastic)! You’re going to Japan!

Curious to see the winning entries? Check out Andrew’s charming video and the submissions of the four finalists, who will each win a cash prize of $1,000!  We congratulate the winners, and we thank our wonderful community of Kikko-fans who unbottled their love and submitted so many incredibly creative entries. Click here to see all our entries. And get ready to feel the love!

The Grand Prize Winner – Andrew Pei is going to Japan!

Kikkoman Soy Sauce has been a part of my life forever. The video tells it well but here are some extra memories I had: Since we refilled everything from the buckets we often would use any squirt bottle for the kitchen counter bottle as it would hold much more than the traditional. One of my earliest proudest moments that I can remember was learning to regulate the flow with the two hole system in the caps. In college, I’d come home and fill gallon containers from the buckets to take back to school. I honestly think these buckets are stronger than most store bought brands.  As I look back I don’t think I can recall a time in my life where I had anything other than Kikkoman for Soy Sauce.”

“Kikkoman helped fuel my love for all things Japan when other authentic Japanese goods and ingredients were hard to come by. I’m a loyal fan to this day. Happy 50th anniversary of brewing soy sauce in the US, Kikkoman!”

Daniel Curry

“My childhood pen pal was my age and lived in Japan and I lived in the United States. One of our common interests was our love of food. He often spoke of a seasoning that made every food he put it on taste great. That seasoning was Kikkoman. I was curious about Kikkoman and found a bottle at our local grocery store. I started putting it on my favorite foods and I loved it. As time passed and I began to travel for my job I always took a bottle of Kikkoman with me to make the restaurant food taste better too. Wherever I go Kikkoman goes with me.”

Kerry Gulezian

“Kikkoman is at the heart of my love for Japan& its cuisine. Whether being cooked for by exchange students, living in Japan, or creating meals for my own family, Kikkoman is always there reminding me of where I have been and where I look forward to going.”

Sophia Ichida Eberlein

“The taste of Kikkoman instantly reminds me of home. When I was little, my mom taught me how to cook traditional Japanese dishes from her childhood. Kikkoman Soy Sauce has always been a staple in our pantry and is the perfect finishing touch to all the dishes that bring our family together.”
