kikkoman products used:

ingredients

¼ cup Kikkoman® Less Sodium Soy Sauce
¼ cup fresh orange juice
¼ cup olive oil
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1 teaspoon lime zest
1 teaspoon dried oregano
¼ cup chopped cilantro
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon minced garlic
¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
2 pounds chicken drumsticks
1 tablespoon vegetable oil

directions

  1. Combine soy sauce, orange juice, oil, lime juice, zest, oregano, cilantro, cumin, garlic, and red pepper flakes in a food processor and pulse until thoroughly combined. Blot chicken drumsticks dry with paper towel and place in a medium glass dish. Pour marinade over drumsticks to coat. Cover and refrigerate for 1-6 hours.
  2. Heat a medium cast-iron grill pan or outdoor grill over medium-high heat and grease with vegetable oil. When grill is heated, place drumsticks on and grill for 20-25 minutes, (or until internal temperature reaches 165ºF) turning halfway through cooking. Serve hot.

THE STORY OF SOY SAUCE

Even people who love soy sauce and use it all the time are often surprised to learn what it is and how it’s made. We make ours from just four simple ingredients—water, soybeans, wheat, and salt. Those ingredients are transformed through a traditional brewing process—much like making wine or beer—that has remained unchanged for centuries.
