kikkoman products used:

ingredients

⅓  cup Kikkoman® Less Sodium Soy Sauce
2 limes, juiced
2 lemons, juiced
⅓  cup olive oil
3 cloves of garlic, minced
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon chili powder
2 pounds flank steak
12-16 tortillas (corn or flour)
5-6 bell peppers, sliced
3 onions, sliced

Serve with (optional):
guacamole
salsa or pico de gallo
lime wedges
cilantro

directions

  1. Stir together soy sauce, lime juice, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, sugar, cumin and chili powder in a shallow pan.
  2. Place steak into the pan and make sure to spoon the marinade over the steak to saturate the meat. Marinate for at least 30 minutes, but overnight is great.
  3. Preheat your grill to 400-500℉. Remove steak from the marinade and place on the hot grill. Cook for 6-10 minutes, then turn and cook for 6-10 minutes more or until steak reaches desired doneness.
  4. In a large sauté pan over high heat, sauté peppers and onions until slightly soft and charred. Pay close attention so they don’t burn.
  5. Remove steak from the grill and let rest 10 minutes. When slicing, do so against the grain.
  6. Serve steak on tortillas with sautéed peppers and onions as well as the toppings of your choice, like guacamole, pico de gallo, fresh lime wedges and cilantro.

THE STORY OF SOY SAUCE

Even people who love soy sauce and use it all the time are often surprised to learn what it is and how it’s made. We make ours from just four simple ingredients—water, soybeans, wheat, and salt. Those ingredients are transformed through a traditional brewing process—much like making wine or beer—that has remained unchanged for centuries.
