Makes 8 waffles

kikkoman products used:

ingredients

WAFFLES
3 cups flour
2-1/2 cups Kikkoman Original Soymilk
1-1/2 cups pecans, finely chopped
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 tablespoon vanilla flavor
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
3 eggs, separated (room temp)

 

FIVE SPICE HONEY SYRUP*
2 cups honey
1/3 cup Kikkoman Soy Sauce
2 tablespoon olasses
1 tablespoon five-spice powder
*Bring these 4 ingredients to a boil over medium heat.

Mix together flour, baking powder, sugar and baking soda.  In a separate bowl beat together egg yolks and soymilk, mix with the dry ingredients.  Add butter and vanilla to the batter.  In the meantime, beat the egg whites until soft peaks form, then fold the eggs whites and pecans into the batter.  Spray nonstick waffle iron with oil spray and pour batter onto the hot waffle iron.  Serve with butter and 5 SPICE HONEY SYRUP*.
