1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 green pepper, sliced
1 carrot, julienned
3 tablespoons Kikkoman® Stir-Fry Sauce
4 hoagie rolls
1 pound beef, thinly sliced
8 slices provolone cheese

directions

  1. Heat 2 teaspoons vegetable oil in a medium-low skillet and add the onion. Caramelize for about 10 minutes.
  2. Add peppers and carrot and cook until softened, about 7 minutes.
  3. Stir in the Stir-Fry Sauce and cook for 3 more minutes and remove from heat.
  4. On a flat top on medium-high heat, open hoagie rolls and place middle side down.
  5. Drizzle 2 teaspoons oil on another part of the surface and add the beef. Using tongs or spatulas, shred the beef into smaller pieces.
  6. Add the cooked peppers and onion and continue tossing the mixture into the beef until beef is cooked.
  7. Divide into 4 sections and add 2 slices provolone to each section. Lift each section and place in each hoagie. Top with hot peppers if desired.

THE STORY OF SOY SAUCE

Even people who love soy sauce and use it all the time are often surprised to learn what it is and how it’s made. We make ours from just four simple ingredients—water, soybeans, wheat, and salt. Those ingredients are transformed through a traditional brewing process—much like making wine or beer—that has remained unchanged for centuries.
