4 cloves of garlic, peeled 3 pounds Yukon gold potatoes 4 tablespoons unsalted butter 2 tablespoons Kikkoman® Sesame Oil ½ cup whole milk 1 teaspoon salt + extra for salting water 2 tablespoons chopped green onion 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
Preheat oven to 375ºF. Place garlic cloves in the center of a piece of aluminum foil. Drizzle with olive oil. Wrap tightly and place on a baking sheet. Transfer to oven. Roast for 30-35 minutes. Cloves are ready when they are a rich brown color and soft. Cool at room temperature while preparing potatoes.
Lightly peel and quarter potatoes. Add to a large pot and cover with water. Salt water and bring to a boil over medium heat. Boil for 15-17 minutes, until potatoes are fork tender.
Drain potatoes and return to pot. Add butter, sesame oil, milk, roasted garlic cloves, and salt. Use a hand mixer or potato masher to blend garlic into potatoes until potatoes are mostly smooth, careful not to over mix.
Transfer to a serving bowl and drizzle with extra sesame oil if desired. Top with green onion and toasted sesame seeds.
