kikkoman products used:

ingredients

1 pound flank steak
½ cup fresh orange juice
⅓ cup Kikkoman® Soy Sauce
2 tablespoons lime juice
1 tablespoon orange zest
1 tablespoon honey
2 teaspoons minced garlic
2 tablespoons minced cilantro + extra for serving
½ teaspoon cracked black pepper
1 tablespoon oil for cooking
2 teaspoons toasted sesame seeds

directions

  1. Combine orange juice, soy sauce, lime juice, orange zest, honey, minced garlic, cilantro and black pepper in a medium mixing bowl. Whisk until honey is dissolved. Pour marinade over steak in a shallow dish. Cover and refrigerate to marinate at least 4 hours or overnight.
  2. Remove steak from marinade and discard marinade. Pat excess moisture from steak using paper towel. Heat a cast iron grill pan or outdoor grill on high heat and grease lightly with oil. Once pan or grill is very hot, add steak and grill for 5-7 minutes on each side, depending on thickness of the cut.
  3. Remove steak from pan and rest for 10 minutes. Slice steak thinly and serve topped with sesame seeds and additional cilantro.

THE STORY OF SOY SAUCE

Even people who love soy sauce and use it all the time are often surprised to learn what it is and how it’s made. We make ours from just four simple ingredients—water, soybeans, wheat, and salt. Those ingredients are transformed through a traditional brewing process—much like making wine or beer—that has remained unchanged for centuries.
