About this recipe

When you want dinner to cook itself, this cozy one-pot wonder comes to the rescue. With just 10 minutes of prep, this dump and go recipe lets your slow cooker do the heavy lifting. Juicy chicken, fluffy rice, and tender veggies soak up all that savory Kikkoman® Teriyaki Takumi, Garlic & Green Onion goodness. It’s a laid-back, delicious way to feed the crew, no fuss and no frying pans. Crockpot chicken and rice made right!

Tips & Tricks 

  • Want to mix it up? Try swapping carrots for sweet potatoes or adding snap peas near the end for some crunch. 
  • For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in the sauce for 30 minutes before tossing it in. 
  • Leftovers reheat like a dream – just splash in a bit of broth to loosen things up. 

ingredients

1½ cups chicken broth 
½ cup Kikkoman® Teriyaki Takumi, Garlic & Green Onion, plus extra for serving
1 pound chicken breast, diced
1 cup long grain white rice 
1½ cups carrots, peeled and sliced into ½-inch pieces 
1 cup yellow onion, coarsely chopped 
4 ounces cremini mushrooms, sliced 
2 tablespoons green onions, chopped, for garnish 

directions

  1. Stir together chicken broth and Takumi sauce in a measuring cup or bowl. Set aside. 
  2. Add chicken, rice, carrots, onion, and mushrooms to crockpot. Pour sauce mixture over ingredients.
  3. Cover and cook 3 hours on High or 5 hours on Low, until chicken is cooked through and rice is tender, stirring after 2 hours.
