ingredients

4 cups Brussels sprouts, roughly chopped
1 ½ Tablespoon olive oil
1 ½ Tablespoon Kikkoman® Soy Sauce
1 ½ Tablespoon maple syrup
Ground black pepper to taste

directions

  1. Whisk together oil, soy sauce, and maple syrup, then pour the mixture over the chopped Brussels sprouts and toss to coat.
  2. Create a little tray out of tin foil, turning the edges up to make a barrier. Place the sprouts in the tray, discarding any excess maple-soy mixture. Season with some freshly ground black pepper.
  3. Cook the packet of Brussels sprouts, completely covered, on a closed medium-high grill for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Transfer the sprouts to a serving bowl or plate.

THE STORY OF SOY SAUCE

Even people who love soy sauce and use it all the time are often surprised to learn what it is and how it’s made. We make ours from just four simple ingredients—water, soybeans, wheat, and salt. Those ingredients are transformed through a traditional brewing process—much like making wine or beer—that has remained unchanged for centuries.
