Combine first six ingredients, stirring until sugar dissolves. Pour mixture over ribs in large plastic food storage bag. Press air out of bag; close top securely. Turn bag over several times to coat ribs. Refrigerate 6 hours or overnight, turning over bag occasionally.
Remove ribs and discard marinade. Prepare grill for medium-high heat or preheat broiler on high heat. Grill or broil ribs 3 to 5 minutes on each side, or to desired doneness. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds, if desired.
