ingredients

1 cup Kikkoman® Teriyaki Takumi, Original
Salt to taste
1 pound chicken thighs
1 cup rice
1 hard-boiled egg
1 green onion spring, sliced
½ cup mushroom

directions

  1. Marinate your chicken in a bag or container with the teriyaki sauce and some salt. Set aside to marinate for 20 minutes while you prepare the rest of your ingredients.
  2. Prepare your rice in the rice cooker and cook your egg in a pot (roughly 10 minutes for hard-boiled).
  3. Cut up your green onions into small slices.
  4. Once those are ready, you’ll get the chicken from the fridge and cook on the pan until it has a nice sear and is cooked through.
  5. Once the chicken is cooked through, set aside to rest. Add the mushrooms in the same pan to cook for a couple of minutes.
  6. Cut the chicken into strips and place all ingredients together in the bowl.
  7. Garnish with green onions and enjoy!

THE STORY OF SOY SAUCE

Even people who love soy sauce and use it all the time are often surprised to learn what it is and how it’s made. We make ours from just four simple ingredients—water, soybeans, wheat, and salt. Those ingredients are transformed through a traditional brewing process—much like making wine or beer—that has remained unchanged for centuries.
