ingredients

For Meatballs
1 pound 85% lean ground beef
1 pound ground pork
½ cup Kikkoman® Panko Bread Crumbs
½ cup grated yellow onion
1 large egg
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon allspice
½ teaspoon nutmeg

For Cooking
2 tablespoons olive oil

For Sauce 
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
3 cups reduced sodium beef stock
2 tablespoons Kikkoman® Soy Sauce
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
¼ teaspoon black pepper
½ cup sour cream
2 tablespoons fresh chopped parsley, for serving

directions

  1. Combine ingredients for meatballs in a large bowl and thoroughly mix to combine.
  2. Form mixture into 20 meatballs.
  3. Heat oil over medium heat in a large skillet. Brown meatballs for 8 minutes, working in two batches. Set meatballs aside on a plate and cover to keep warm.
  4. Drain most of the grease from skillet and discard. Add butter to skillet. Once butter has melted, gradually whisk in flour. Gradually whisk in beef stock. Add soy sauce, Worcestershire, Dijon mustard, and black pepper to skillet and stir to combine. Heat for 2 minutes.
  5. Return meatballs to pan and reduce heat to simmer. Simmer for 15-18 minutes or until meatballs are cooked through.
  6. Add dollops of sour cream to skillet and stir to incorporate. Heat for 1 minute longer. Serve hot garnished with parsley. Meatballs can be enjoyed over noodles or mashed potatoes.
