About this recipe

If you’re looking to take your steak to the next level, this Thai Steak Marinade is the way to do it. Packed with bold flavors from Kikkoman® Fish Sauce, Kikkoman® Less Sodium Soy Sauce, red curry paste, and fresh lime juice, this marinade gives your steak the perfect balance of savory, tangy, and slightly sweet. Whether you’re using flank steak, skirt steak, or hanger steak, this easy mix creates a juicy, flavorful bite every time.

Letting the steak marinate for a few hours ensures that every bite is infused with deep, rich Thai-inspired flavors. Once it hits the grill, you get a beautiful char on the outside while keeping the inside tender and juicy. Serve it thinly sliced with fresh Thai chiles or green onions for a pop of heat and freshness. Whether you’re grilling outdoors or using a cast-iron pan, this marinade is an easy way to bring bold flavors to your next meal.

Tips and Tricks

  • For the best results, marinate your steak for at least 4 hours. For even deeper flavor, leave overnight.
  • Let the steak rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing to keep it juicy.
  • If you like heat, add extra Thai chiles or a drizzle of Thai chili fish sauce for an extra kick.
  • This steak marinade works great for grilling, but you can also pan-sear it for an easy stovetop option.

THE STORY OF SOY SAUCE

Even people who love soy sauce and use it all the time are often surprised to learn what it is and how it’s made. We make ours from just four simple ingredients—water, soybeans, wheat, and salt. Those ingredients are transformed through a traditional brewing process—much like making wine or beer—that has remained unchanged for centuries.
