Air Fryer Spicy Szechuan Chicken Wings

Ingredients

  • For Chicken Wings:
  • 12 whole chicken wings (approximately 1lb)
  • Cooking spray
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ⅓ cup of Kikkoman®Szechuan Spicy Sauce
  •  
  • For Szechuan Aioli:
  • ¼ cup Kikkoman® Szechuan Spicy Sauce
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise 
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Directions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F. While the air fryer is preheating, make spice mixture. In a medium bowl, stir together baking powder, corn starch, black pepper, garlic powder and salt.
  2. Place chicken on a plate. Using a paper towel, pat the wings dry then spray with a light coating of cooking spray. Transfer chicken to the spice mix bowl and toss with the spices. Remove chicken from bowl and evenly spread out chicken wings in the air fryer. Cook for 10 minutes, then flip chicken wings. Finish cooking for another 10 minutes until the center reaches 165°F and the outside of the wings are golden and crispy.
  3. While the chicken is cooking, make szechuan aioli. In a small serving  bowl, stir together ingredients for the szechuan aioli. Set aside.
  4. When the wings are ready, remove from the air fryer and allow them to cool for 5 minutes. Once they have cooled, transfer them to a large bowl and add ⅓ cup of Kikkoman® Szechuan Spicy Sauce.  Using tongs, toss chicken with sauce.
  5. Transfer wings to a serving platter. Serve alongside Szechuan Aioli.
