ingredients

Filling:
10 pounds Granny Smith apples
4 ounces butter
1 pound sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 tablespoons cold water
1 tablespoon cornstarch

Topping:
10 ounces Kikkoman Panko Japanese Style Bread Crumbs
6 ounces rolled oats
4 ounces brown sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
2 eggs, lightly beaten
6 ounces melted butter

directions

To prepare Apple Filling: Peel and core apples; cut into 1 1/4-inch wedges. In large sauté pan over medium heat, melt butter; add apples and sauté about 10 minutes or until lightly browned, tossing occasionally. Add sugar and cinnamon; reduce heat to low and cook, stirring occasionally, until syrup forms. Mix water and cornstarch; stir into apples just until cornstarch is incorporated. Remove from heat.

To prepare Topping: Mix together panko, oats, brown sugar and cinnamon. Stir in eggs and butter.

To assemble and bake dessert: Spread Apple Filling in 12-x18-inch baking pan. Cover evenly with Topping. Bake in 350 degree oven about 30 minutes or until topping is crisp and golden. Serve at room temperature with whipped cream or ice cream.
