ingredients

3 tablespoons sugar
6 tablespoons Kikkoman® Less Sodium Soy Sauce
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 tablespoon Kikkoman® Sesame Oil
5 cloves garlic, grated or minced
2 pounds of beef steak (choose steaks with a nice marble)
2 tablespoons butter
10 medium mushrooms, sliced
4 sprigs fresh thyme

directions

  1. Whisk together sugar, soy sauce, oils, and 3 cloves of garlic in a large shallow bowl.
  2. Add the steaks to the marinade and flip to coat. Let sit for 15 minutes.
  3. Preheat grill to medium high and once hot, add the steaks to the grill.
  4. Allow to cook until desired doneness, flipping after 5-7 minutes, depending on the thickness of your steaks.
  5. Meanwhile, heat butter and 2 cloves of garlic in a skillet on medium-low heat.
  6. Add mushrooms and thyme and cook for 10 minutes or until the mushrooms are soft and beginning to brown.
  7. Remove steaks from grill, cover with tin foil, and allow to rest for 5 minutes before eating.
  8. Top with mushrooms.
