ingredients

1 pound skirt steak

Soy-Herb Marinade
¼ cup Kikkoman® Gluten-Free Soy Sauce
¼ cup red wine vinegar
2 tablespoons olive oil
¼ cup chopped green onion
1 tablespoon minced garlic
½ teaspoon cracked black pepper

directions

  1. Stir together ingredients for marinade in a small bowl.
  2. Place skirt steaks in a shallow dish or bowl and pour marinade over top to evenly coat. Marinade for at least 1 hour and up to 4 hours.
  3. Heat grill or grill pan to high heat and grease with cooking oil. When grill reaches 500ºF, use tongs to remove steaks from marinade and place on grill, leaving the top open. Grill for 3-5 minutes on each side depending on doneness preference.
  4. Remove steaks from grill and rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve hot topped with additional green onion.

THE STORY OF SOY SAUCE

Even people who love soy sauce and use it all the time are often surprised to learn what it is and how it’s made. We make ours from just four simple ingredients—water, soybeans, wheat, and salt. Those ingredients are transformed through a traditional brewing process—much like making wine or beer—that has remained unchanged for centuries.
