About

Wake up to the ultimate comfort breakfast with this French Toast Casserole with Sesame Crumble Topping! Made with cubes of sourdough or French bread soaked in a rich cinnamon-vanilla custard, then topped with a crunchy oat and sesame crumble, this dish is a delicious twist on classic French toast. Whether you’re hosting brunch or just want a make-ahead breakfast, this easy bake is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser. This overnight casserole is perfect for prepping ahead—just assemble the night before and pop it in the oven in the morning. The sesame crumble topping, made with Kikkoman® Sesame Oil, adds a nutty depth of flavor that sets this apart from your average baked French toast casserole. Whether you're using sourdough, brioche, or even challah, the result is a warm, custardy center with a golden, crispy top. Ideal for weekends, holidays, or any time you want a special breakfast with minimal effort, this breakfast casserole will have everyone coming back for seconds! Tips and Tricks
  • For the best texture, use day-old bread—it soaks up the custard without becoming too soft.
  • Prefer a nutty crunch? Add chopped pecans or walnuts to the sesame crumble topping.
  • If you’re short on time, skip the overnight soak and let the bread sit in the custard for 30 minutes before baking.
  • Try using brioche or challah for an extra indulgent version.
