About
These Ponzu Grilled Chicken Wings are everything you want in a wing—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and dripping with bold, citrusy flavor. Marinated in savory ponzu chicken marinade and finished with a glossy brush of pineapple teriyaki glaze, these wings are next-level backyard BBQ material. Perfect for game day, a casual cookout, or anytime you’re wondering what goes with chicken wings (answer: more wings). Tips and Tricks- The baking powder helps achieve an ultra-crispy skin without frying.
- For even better flavor, marinate the wings overnight.
- Flip them often on the grill—grilled chicken wings cook fast and need attention for the perfect char.
- Want more of a kick? Add a dash of chili flakes to the marinade before grilling.
Ingredients
For Marinade/Wings
1 cup Kikkoman® Ponzu
2 pounds chicken wings
1 tablespoon baking powder
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ cup Kikkoman® Teriyaki Baste & Glaze with Honey & Pineapple (No Preservatives Added)
For Serving
Lemon wedges
Chopped parsley
Directions
- Combine wings in a large shallow glass dish or large zip top bag. Pour ponzu sauce over wings until evenly covered. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours.
- Heat grill to 425ºF. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place a metal drying rack on top. Drain marinade from wings and blot dry with paper towels. Place wings in a bowl. Sprinkle with baking powder and black pepper. Toss to combine.
- Grill wings for 20-25 minutes, flipping wings every 5-6 minutes for even cooking. During the last 5 minutes, brush tops of wings with teriyaki.
- Cool wings for 5 minutes. Serve wings warm with additional teriyaki for dipping, topped with lemon wedges and fresh parsley.
