Serves 4
Total Time 30-32 minutes
Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 10-12 minutes

Ingredients

2 1¼-inch thick strip steaks (approximately 1 pound each)
2 tablespoons avocado oil (or other high-heat oil)
2 teaspoons kosher salt
2 teaspoons cracked black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ cup Kikkoman® Teriyaki Baste & Glaze

Directions

  1. Preheat a charcoal or wood-fired grill to high heat.
  2. Pat the steaks dry and rub with avocado oil.
  3. Season all sides of the steaks with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  4. Place the steaks directly over the hot coals and begin grilling.
  5. When steaks are halfway cooked (around 4–5 minutes in), begin brushing with teriyaki sauce.
  6. Flip the steaks and continue basting on the second side, building a sticky, flavorful glaze.
  7. Cook until the internal temperature reaches 125°F for medium rare or desired doneness.
  8. Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing.
  9. Slice and serve with your favorite sides.
