kikkoman products used:

ingredients

1 + 1 tablespoons olive oil, divided
8 ounces baby portobello mushrooms, sliced
1 teaspoon garlic, minced
1 pound lean ground beef
1 large egg
½ cup Kikkoman® Panko Bread Crumbs
2 tablespoons Kikkoman® Soy Sauce
1 teaspoon dried oregano
¼ cup parsley, finely chopped

directions

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat in a medium pan. Add mushrooms and sauté for 3 minutes, stirring once. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute longer. Cool for 3 minutes.
  2. Transfer mushrooms to a food processor and pulse 7-8 times to finely chop. Transfer mushrooms to a medium mixing bowl with ground beef, egg, panko, soy sauce, oregano and parsley. Use hands to mix thoroughly.
  3. Form mixture into 4 large burgers, leaving a well in the center. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat in a non-stick medium pan for 2 minutes. Add 2 burgers and cook for 5-6 minutes on each side. Repeat with remaining burgers. Serve hot topped with your favorite burger fixings.

THE STORY OF SOY SAUCE

Even people who love soy sauce and use it all the time are often surprised to learn what it is and how it’s made. We make ours from just four simple ingredients—water, soybeans, wheat, and salt. Those ingredients are transformed through a traditional brewing process—much like making wine or beer—that has remained unchanged for centuries.
