Fried Kara-Áge Tofu

Ingredients

14 ounces extra firm tofu, cubed into 2-inch pieces
½ + ½ package (3 ounces) Kikkoman® Kara-Áge 
Vegetable oil  

For Dipping Sauce
½ cup Kikkoman® Less Sodium Soy Sauce
1 tablespoon Kikkoman® Sesame Oil
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon finely chopped cilantro 
½ teaspoon minced garlic 

For Serving
Lime wedges 

Directions

  1. Stir together ingredients for dipping sauce. Set aside.  
  2. Press tofu gently between paper towels to remove excess liquid. Place in a bowl and coat in ½ of the Kara-Áge coating mix. Set aside. 
  3. Heat ½-inch of oil in a deep frying pan to 350ºF. Once oil is hot, coat tofu in remaining Kara-Áge mix and place into hot oil, leaving space in between each piece. Fry for 1-2 minutes on each side until crisp and golden brown.  
  4. Transfer to a paper towel lined plate to soak up excess oil.  
  5. Serve tofu warm with lime wedges and dipping sauce.
