Sweet and Sour Chili Paneer

Ingredients
For the Batter
3 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons rice flour
½ teaspoon red chili powder
½ teaspoon kosher salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
2 teaspoons garlic, minced
2 teaspoons ginger paste
2 teaspoons vegetable oil
16 ounces paneer, cut into 1 inch cubes
For the Sweet and Sour Chili Paneer Sauce
1 tablespoon neutral oil (vegetable, avocado, etc.)
1 tablespoon garlic, minced
1 tablespoon ginger paste
1 green chili, finely sliced
2 green onions, sliced
1 cup onions, largely diced
1 cup bell peppers, julienned
3 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon red chili sauce, or to taste
⅓ cup Kikkoman® Sweet & Sour Sauce
⅓ cup water
Directions
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for 10 minutes.
- In a medium mixing bowl, add cornstarch, rice flour, red chili powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Whisk well and add garlic, ginger paste, and vegetable oil.
- Add the paneer and toss until it is well-coated.
- Add the paneer to the air fryer basket and cook, tossing halfway through. Cook until golden and crispy.
Sweet and Sour Chili Paneer Sauce
- While the paneer is air frying, make the sauce. In a large skillet over medium heat, add oil.
- Once the oil is hot, add garlic and ginger paste and sauté for 2 minutes.
- Add green chili and the white parts of the green onions and sauté for another minute.
- Add the onion and bell peppers and sauté for 3-4 minutes.
- Add ketchup and red chili sauce and mix well.
- Add sweet & sour sauce and water and mix well.
- Mix until the sauce thickens, about 3-4 minutes.
- Season with salt and add air-fried paneer to the pan and toss until well-coated.
- Garnish with green ends of the green onions and serve immediately.
