Ingredients

6 ounces extra firm tofu
Nori sheets
¼ cup cornstarch
Cooking oil
¼ cup Kikkoman® Teriyaki Marinade & Sauce
2 tablespoons sugar

For Serving
Rice
Arugula
Green onions

Directions

  1. Take extra firm tofu out of packaging. Set on top of paper towel and place another paper towel on top. Lightly press with plate or leave heavy plate on top to relieve the tofu water for about 5 minutes. Cut tofu into small rectangles.
  2. Cut nori sheets into long thin nori strips (long and thin enough to wrap around the tofu). Wrap a nori strip around each tofu piece. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, coat nori tofu with cornstarch, enough to coat all sides of the tofu. Set aside.
  4. In a large pan, heat enough oil to shallow fry tofu to 330°F. Shallow fry on each side until crispy/lightly brown. Place fried tofu on a wired rack or paper towel on a plate.
  5. In another pan, heat teriyaki with sugar on medium heat until it bubbles. Toss in your crispy tofu and cook with sauce until coated and glazed.
  6. Enjoy with rice, choice of greens, and top with green onions.
