Tips & Tricks 

  • This works equally well with flank or skirt steak—just be sure to slice thinly across the grain for tenderness. 
  • Wondering what temp to grill steak for medium-rare? Aim for 130–135°F internal temperature. 
  • Add extra heat by adding some extra chipotle or sprinkling in crushed red pepper flakes. 
  • Serve with grilled vegetables, rice, or stuff it into tacos for a killer fajita-style dinner. 

Ingredients

¼ cup Kikkoman® Teriyaki Marinade & Sauce
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, chopped
1 teaspoon ground cumin
½ teaspoon smoked paprika
1½ – 2 pounds flank steak or skirt steak 

Directions

  1. Mix together teriyaki sauce, lime juice, olive oil, chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, cumin, and smoked paprika in a small bowl.

  2. Add steak to a shallow glass dish and pour marinade on top. Cover and refrigerate for 1–4 hours.

  3. Heat grill or a grill pan to medium-high heat and grease with cooking oil. Add steak to grill and cook for 4–6 minutes per side, or until cooked to desired internal temperature.

  4. Let steak rest 5 minutes on a cutting board. Slice thinly against the grain. Enjoy warm.
