About
Sweet, savory, and ready in just 20 minutes, these Maple Teriyaki Chicken Bites are perfect for a quick and flavorful meal! Made with Kikkoman® Teriyaki Marinade & Sauce and a touch of pure maple syrup, these bite-sized pieces are topped with sesame seeds and green onions for a delicious finish. A delightful mix of sweet and savory, the maple syrup adds a gentle sweetness that perfectly complements the rich, umami flavors of the teriyaki sauce. Coated lightly in cornstarch before cooking, the bite-sized pieces of chicken breast stay juicy and tender while forming a golden, crispy exterior. Whether you're looking for a fast and easy chicken bites recipe or a way to elevate your weeknight meals, these come together effortlessly and taste amazing. Perfectly portioned for snacking, sharing, or even as a main course over rice, these sweet teriyaki bites are versatile and can be adapted to suit your preferences. Tips and Tricks- To ensure even browning, make sure the skillet is hot before adding the chicken bites, and give them space to cook without crowding the pan.
- For an alternative method, cook the chicken bites in an air fryer at 375ºF for 10-12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. This will give you crispy, tender bites without much oil.
- If you want a thicker glaze, simmer the sauce a little longer until it reaches the desired consistency before adding the chicken bites back into the skillet.
Ingredients
1 pound boneless/skinless chicken breast, cubed into bite size pieces
1 tablespoon cornstarch
½ teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoon cooking oil
¼ cup Kikkoman ® Teriyaki Marinade & Sauce
2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
2 tablespoons water
For Serving
1 teaspoon sesame seeds
2 tablespoons green onion, sliced
Directions
- Blot chicken with paper towel to remove excess moisture. Add to a mixing bowl and sprinkle with cornstarch and black pepper. Stir to coat.
- Heat oil over medium heat in a skillet for 2-3 minutes. Add chicken to hot skillet and cook for 7 minutes, stirring occasionally until evenly browned.
- While chicken cooks, stir together teriyaki, maple syrup and water.
- Reduce heat to low. Add sauce to skillet with chicken and simmer for 4-5 minutes longer, until sauce has reduced and thickened, stirring occasionally.
- Serve hot topped with sesame seeds and green onion.
