About
Looking for a cozy, all-in-one meal that doesn’t leave behind a mountain of dishes? This One Pan Chicken Orzo Dinner has your back. Juicy chicken, toasty orzo, fresh spinach, and tangy extras like roasted red peppers and olives all come together in one skillet—flavor-packed and weeknight-friendly. This is the kind of dish that feels elevated but is super low effort. The orzo cooks right in the pan with the chicken stock, soaking up all those good flavors. A splash of Kikkoman® Umami Joy Sauce adds a savory twist that ties everything together. Whether you're into a chicken orzo skillet meal, curious about how long to cook orzo, or just want something easy that looks (and tastes) impressive, this one's a keeper. Tips and Tricks- Toasting the orzo for a minute before adding the liquid adds a subtle nutty flavor—worth the extra step.
- Chicken thighs stay juicier, but breasts work great too—just don’t overcook 'em.
- Feel free to swap in artichokes, sun-dried tomatoes, or feta to make it your own.
Ingredients
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 pound chicken (thighs or breasts), cut into bite-sized pieces
1 teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon black pepper
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup orzo
2 cups chicken stock
1 teaspoon dried oregano
2 tablespoons dried dill
2 tablespoons Kikkoman® Umami Joy Sauce
2 cups fresh spinach
½ cup jarred roasted red bell peppers, sliced
⅓ cup Kalamata olives, halved
Directions
- Heat olive oil over medium-high heat in a large skillet. Toss the chicken with paprika and black pepper, then sear until golden brown, about 8 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, lower heat slightly and add garlic. Sauté 30 seconds, until fragrant. Add orzo and toast for 1–2 minutes. Pour in chicken stock and stir in oregano, dill, and Umami Joy Sauce. Scrape up any browned bits from the bottom. Bring to a simmer, cover, and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until orzo is tender and most liquid is absorbed.
- Stir in spinach and let cook for 2 minutes. Add cooked chicken, roasted red peppers, and olives. Stir to combine. Cook 2 minutes longer. Serve warm.
