16 pounds chicken wings, tips removed
1 cup vegetable oil, divided
4 cups minced onion
1/2 cup minced garlic
4 cups ketchup
2 cups Kikkoman Sriracha Sauce
1/2 cup cider or rice vinegar

directions

In large bowl, toss wings with 1/2 cup oil; spread on sheet pans in one layer. Bake in 425°F oven about 20 minutes; turn wings over and bake 20 minutes more or until browned and cooked through. While wings are cooking in saucepan, heat 1/2 cup vegetable oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; cook, stirring frequently, until golden brown. Stir in ketchup, sriracha sauce, vinegar, soy sauce and cumin; simmer about 5 minutes. When wings are cooked, spoon sauce over wings to coat.

THE STORY OF SOY SAUCE

Even people who love soy sauce and use it all the time are often surprised to learn what it is and how it’s made. We make ours from just four simple ingredients—water, soybeans, wheat, and salt. Those ingredients are transformed through a traditional brewing process—much like making wine or beer—that has remained unchanged for centuries.
